The island of Capri is located in the Bay of Naples, just in front of the Sorrento’ peninsula. It is a small island, six kilometers long and three kilometers wide, but it is famous since ancient times for its beauty. It attracts nowadays always for the same reasons that made it a fascinating touristic garden island.
Already in ancient times, wealthy Romans were relaxing there.
Among the many beauties it shelters, there are the stacks, the two large rocks emerging from the sea, views as the belvedere of Tragara, the Grotta Azzurra (the Blue Cave), the Marina Piccola (little harbou), the Villa San Michele and Villa Malaparte, the remains of Roman imperial villas.
The island is occupied by two towns, one named Capri, the richest, of other one Anacapri, on the other side of the mountain, Monte Solaro, that dominates the island.
